This painting was used for the Colorado Marathon's finishers print in 2013. It's the only tunnel in the Poudre Canyon and is a local landmark. I liked the way the sun was just coming over the surrounding hills and hitting the top of the tunnel. You can tell it's going to be a sunny day, but you still feel the chill in the shadows and on the water.

My name is Tom Riggs and I love art! I am a self-taught freelance artist living in Fort Collins, Colorado. My passion is in watercolor and I particulary enjoy painting on watercolor canvas. The finished product is sprayed with a fixative and UV protector so the paintings can be hung without glass. I love to paint landscapes/cityscapes with lots of light and strong contrasts.
